One Tree Hill: Hughesapalooza!

How many flick references did you catch? First, there were the obvious ones:
- Haley's forgotten-birthday plot was from Sixteen Candles -- and the last shot, of Naley kissing over the cake, was homage.
- Nate and Clay's plot was from Planes, Trains & Automobiles
- Mouth's date creation was from Weird Science
- Jamie was living out Home Alone
- Elements of the Julian/Brooke story -- and all of Julian's 80s costume -- were from Pretty in Pink
But those were easy! Did you catch the less obvious shout outs? Read on!
- Jamie had the Ferris Bueller shower mohawk for a split second.
- The Girl in the Red Corvette was a National Lampoon's Vacation reference -- which Hughes wrote. And we kind of think the driver was Kristy Swanson, who was in several Hughes movies.
- We could swear the hair caught in the locker came from Sixteen Candles, although we could be wrong.
- Kylie's line about realizing it wasn't that Clay doesn't believe in love, it's that he didn't believe in love with her, was exceedingly close to a line from When Harry Met Sally... which, as far as we know, had nothing to do with Hughes. Go figure.
And we're sure there were plenty more, which we urge you to tell us about in the comment! And while you're there, tell is if we just missed any reference to Some Kind Of Wonderful and the Breakfast Club, or if those Hughesian masterpieces were unrepresented.
And oh yeah, we should probably talk about what happened.... Quinn dumped a smoothie on Kylie, then came to an understanding with her; Millie was mysteriously absent; Brooke and Julian sort of kind of started supporting each other (except for the mutual jealousy they had at the dance); Nathan bought Haley a car (and was anyone else expecting an 80s horror movie scenario when Clay was left by the side of the road?); Girl Alex and Boy Alex met, and Girl Alex confessed that she still loved Julian (snore); and Julian and Alex started filming their movie, "7 Dreams 'til Tuesday." Plus, Cheap Trick performed... a bunch of songs from the 70s and one from 2009. You know what? Who cares. It was Cheap Trick, and we'll always Surrender to them!
So what was your take on the episode? Talk about it in the comments!

I thought that Alexander was a reference to Blaine from PiP...
I think you got all the most important references.
And I personally loved this episode. I'm not digging the larger plots at the moment so it was nice to have a great stand alone episode like this one. OTH has the best stand alone episodes.

for the last poll i replied It depends -- sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Here it worked because it advanced the plot! Chad's episode didnt AT ALL and I also was bored out of my mind.

The white jacket that Alex is wearnig in that picture was identical to the one in can't buy me love, although not a hughes movie, classic 80s.
Boy Alex was dressed like James Spader in PiP.
The haircutting is from 16 candles, but it was a bedroom door and not a locker.
the car scene with mouth was also 16 candles.

The opening montage is set to “Don’t You Forget About Me” from "The Breakfast Club"
Brooke tears apart a dress and makes it into another one "Pretty in Pink"
Brooke/Alexander/Julian/Alex storyline had some shades of "Some Kind of Wonderful"
