Dean used the same words on Sam that their Dad did when Sam left the first time to get away from "the life" together with how Sam pleaded for Dean to trust him and how Dean felt that Sam chose Ruby over him and then Dean stating the worst thing he could about Sam being a "Monster". All those emotions they were both going through and have been through till this point!!! IT'S HEARTBREAKING when Sam then finally walked out the door...

Supernatural...
It was sooo heartbreaking.
Dean and Sam's bong was so strong before and in season 4 started to break. And in this scene broke completely. It's so sad and maybe they won't be able to fix it...

for those you said that the Spn scene wasn't sad, I guess you don't watch Spn because if you just watch the clip it doesn't seem that heartbreaking....but..

Dean was always there for his brother, taking care of him, taugh him everything, we can almost said he raise him by himself...Dean even soul his soul and spend 40 years in hell for his brother!

Then, this episode mark the end of all that, after everything they did for each other...you can't understand without watching it

sorry Sophia but theres more DEDICATED supernatural fans then people think. THERES TONNES! just cause your OTH is 2nd in like every category. The management of these polls havent found any supernatural polls being jipped but they have found them for OTH. STOP bashing SPN cause fans go on everyday and vote cause they want the better nominee to win! Your a fool

My votes go to Smallville.

Chloe holding Jimmy while he was dieing was really sad...Specially when he said "I love You"...and dies heartbreaking sincerely. I cried for while even after the show was over.

And I was one of those people who hated Jimmy sometimes. For doing a few things to Chloe that weren't fair not just because Chloe is my always favorite character. But in that scene before he died I fell in love with Jimmy's character all over and then it was all taken away, it was all taken away from Chloe as well.

...Just saying, it was a very sad yet meaningful scene.

sophia,

Supernatural fans are not cheating. The brother final confrontation was the saddest thing ever. You just don't feel it if you don't truly appreciate the show and the bond between them. My friend doesn't watch One Tree Hill and just thought the clip was meh, since she didn't like the actor playing Jamie (cute she says but not good at acting) or Quentin. So of course, she just saw a normal funeral scene.

One Tree Hill clip was sad I'll admit. But as it being sad every episode? Not so much.

Sophia - If you cry almost episode while watching OTH, I think you might want to consider watching a different show.

And nothing has been proven that SPN fans are cheating as WHEN the OTH's were.

I watch OTH, SPN, and GG and all of those scenes were really sad, but the OTH scene is the only one that actually made me cry.

Nathan and Haley telling Jamie that his friend was dead was the most heartbreaking thing ever. It is hard dealing with death and I could not imagine dealing with it at 5 or how to explain death to a 5 year old. Brooke finally breaks down after she was attacked. Those episodes of OTH gets me every time.

The Sam/Dean fight was expected because all season they had tension. The fight was sad though because the brothers have been through many things together.

jamie finding out about Q is totally the saddest! i still cry, and I've seen that episode like 100 times (not really, prolly like 3 times, but whatever, lol) seriously i think Jamie's gunna be like goth when he's older from all the stuff he's been through!
but that was just sad

@Sophia

Calm down. No one's cheating cause they fixed that already when, as I suppose I must remind you, one or more OTH fan cheated the polls. Now you are entitled to your opinion but it is rather childish to bash other shows when clearly you have not watched them or because you did not win the category. Now please don't take this reply to you as being mean or harsh, but I felt the need to stick up for SPN as you have clearly done for OTH. The reason the brother's moment was so heart-breaking was because they are all each other has and they have always stuck together. It would be like your parents all of a sudden ditching you. Their bond has always been strong and to see Dean repeat the same words their father once spoke to Sam, was a major eye opener. I hope this helps you understand.

=]

glad 2 c all the OTH supporters! definatly the saddest. i wanted to vote for Jimmy on Smallville, coz that was JUST wrong..cant believe they killed him! but OMFG so sad 4 jaime! regardless of what happens....OTH has won in my mind!

That proves that supernatural fans are cheating and voting more than once, there is NO way ever that a stupid fight between 2 brothers is ever as heartbreaking as having to explain to a child that his best friend was murdered, and then watching him at his funeral, and Sophia Bush is the BEST cryer ever, so that just adds to the absolute hearbreaking sadness that the One Tree Hill scene had! One Tree Hill makes me cry almost every episode!

I had to vote for SPN for this, altough from just watching this clip I probably wouldn't see it either. There's this whole dialog before Sam throws the first punch (Sam begging Dean to trust him, Dean calling Sam a monster), then Sam's "You don't know me" in contrast to Dean's "I know that kid" earlier in the ep, and finally the whole history and pain of the "If you walk out that door" line. Ouch, ouch and OUCH! And this doesn't even take into account that this episode broke my heart several times even before the last five minutes.
One more thing: This time I have to disagree with the OTH fans. While the clips from Smallville and Gossip Girl felt pretty touching, OTH made me cringe. Sorry, but that was just too cheesy for me.

OT @Megan: Totally agree about JP in this ep.

How is Supernatural more heartbreaking than OTH? Brothers fight. It happens. That's a normal thing. But Nathan and Haley telling their 5 year old son that his best friend had died was one of the saddest moments I've seen on a tv show. Children that young should not have to deal with a loss like that. The scene from SPN was sad at the end but it wasnt nearly as sad as OTH.

Supernatural all the way. That fight scene killed me.

I get chills and my eyes start burning just thinking about 4.21 of Supernatural, because of that last scene alone. It completely kills me, breaks my heart/soul into a million pieces, for so many reasons. I'm too incoherent to even attempt to list/explain them, really.

But I do think this was definitely more painful than Dean's death was (it hurt, yes, but we knew it was coming for so long, I'd sort of steeled myself for it, and I knewknewknew he'd be back), a little more painful than Sam's (which was up until 4.21 listed as my most emotionally scarring incident in a television show/movie/anything EVER, what with Dean crying and selling his soul and slhknaerhnath) - it was like everything they ever meant to each other was breaking, and you could tell it hurt both of them but they just couldn't stop. Like falling down stairs or something.

aknhalthna now you've made me HURT, guys, thanks.

Very nice, the supernatural is better season ever!

Being a huge fan of OTH, SPN, and Gossip Girl I feel biased toward these shows. OTH was really sad for sure. Brooke finally breaking down after her attack and Jaime feeling the first real loss of his life. I remember watching it the fist time and bawling when he put the cape on the grave. Gossip Girl was at its best here. Blair finally letting her walls down and the insecure little boy you see in Chuck. The category is called "most heartbreaking" and I feel that has to go to SPN. Watching the disgust in Sam's face towards Dean, knowing Dean has sacrificed his life to make sure San has all the chances at a normal life. Dean's biggest fear is that the only person he really has in the world and has literally gone to hell for he doesn't know at all. When Dean says the same words John said to Sam all those years before, my heart completely breaks. Jared and Jensen while always awesome really stepped it up on this episode.

Well, I'm glad I took a screencap last night when OTH was in the lead. Those were the days.

I'll agree with a lot of people and state that the OTH scene is incredibly heartbreaking.

But nothing compares with that Supernatural scene. I remember sitting on my couch, completely stunned after it was over. I felt like the world had just shattered XD

First of all, the Winchesters fighting is sad enough (seriously, for those of you who don't watch the show, before that clip, Dean freaking calls his own brother a monster).

But Sam telling Dean he doesn't know him?! And Dean, taking words from John and telling him to never come back?! All the angst nearly kills me.

For me, that scene (heck, that entire freaking episode) was most heartbreaking in all of SPN history. And there have been some pretty darn heartbreaking moments. Not to mention Jared's phenomenal performance.

Supernatural. Hands down. 100%.

oh come on!
just vote for real!:
One Tree Hill moment

I vote for Smallville, because it really terrible moment when Jimmy dies in Chloe's arms.

Definitely Supernatural. One Tree Hill was good, but Supernatural was better. The Winchester brother's bond breaking is one of the saddest things ever on Supernatural next to Dean talking about his time in Hell, Dean's death in season 3, and Sam's death in season 2.

Imagine the feeling of losing your only brother no matter how hard you tried or how you tried to reason with him. Sam means everything to Dean and knowing that Sam would embrace his dark fate and lose himself in the process was just heartbreaking! The brothers once had a stronger bond than those connected to Q in One Tree Hill, and that made their final confrontation that much harder to watch without shedding tears.

Gossip Girl..meh. But just as a question I want answered. Does anyone feel angry at Lily for indirectly causing Bart's death? Bart wasn't my favorite character, but he deserved way better than that. THEN Lily hooks up with Rufus RIGHT after his death! I was really infuriated at how someone could do that. No one forced her into marrying Bart and she went behind his back like he's the villain.

And Smallville...not really feeling the love for Smallville here since the writers totally messed up Davis Bloome's character. He was the only reason I tuned into Smallville this season, aaand the writers destroyed any possibility of my return to Smallville.

Sorry hands down, how can supernatural actually win from oth? That was the sadest scene ever. How can a fight scene be sad? cmon. OTH 4 ever!

I went with OTH. I love SPN and I've voted for it in pretty much everything else but based purely on those clips, I thought the OTH one was much sadder.

Oh this is so awesome a category that's actually close! Cmon OTH!

The OTH clip is a little untrue since you put two different moments (from two different episodes)in it. It should of stopped when Jamie left the room.

I'm a total Supernatural-fan but this one time I voted against it.
I don't watch one tree hill, but this scene? It killed me.
So my vote goes for this one time against Supernatural and to OTH.

One Tree Hill wins this, hands down. It's incredibly heartbreaking and even if you're not a fan of the show you can just feel the sadness. Honestly, the Supernatural scene did nothing for me. I know I'm going to get a lot of comments for saying that, but it's my opinion. I don't know anything about Smallville so I don't know anything about the history with those two characters. Gossip Girl was pretty depressing, I remember watching that episode and feeling so bad for Chuck :( But OTH definitely takes this one, and I think they deserve a win in this category.

Uh, who really cares about what Dean said to Sam. Sam WAS WALKING OUT ON DEAN AFTER STRANGLING HIM AND CHOOSING A DEMON OVER HIS OWN BROTHER!!! NOW THAT'S HEARTBREAKING!!!!

I only teared up at one of them, so my vote has to go to that. One Tree Hill.

Hands down, One Tree Hill .. I still cry when I watch that episode ! Way more heartbreaking than them Winchester boys !

OH MY. I ALMOST VOTED FOR OTH AS A SPN FAN ALMOST!!
But then i thought it over and i would CRY if Sam and Dean ever departed!!!\
SPN SORRY OTH

All touching moments but Supernatural was the saddest for me. Life-long brotherly bonds broken by physical confrontation and hurtful words...heartbreakingly sad...

One Tree Hill wins this one for me. Can you imagine telling a little 5 year old boy that his best friend is dead and is not coming back? And even with only a couple of lines, Bethany Joy Galeotti made me tear up, so I'd go for One Tree Hill.

One Tree Hill wins this. That was a heartbreaking moment, I cry EVERY time I see that scene.

Supernatural all the way. The fracturing of the brotherly bond and those words of Dean's...heartbreaking. I was screaming when he said that.

Tough one but I went with SPN since that is one I nominated.

ok. based on these clips i wouldnt vote for SPN. BUT this is one category that it deserves to win ...hands down, no question! the scene that will not allow me to vote for another show is where Dean talks about hell - OMFG (tears flow!) its not only one of the best heartbreaking moments this season but for the entire series and should not only be nominated but WIN this category!
and before you even start yes i have voted against SPN before, even though it goes against every instinct!!

omg sooo one tree hill!

i was crying! it is the saddest moment when they have to tell little Jamie that is best friend is dead! and then the funeral.. i don't get how you can't vote for that

This was so sad. Q wasn't my favorite on season 5 at frist but it was so sad when he died. James and Joy were great in this episode.

For Gossip Girl, they could've showed a better clip...there's one where chuck just bawls! it's so sad, smallville almost made me cry..but naley was just too much for me, i cried just watching the clip, i remember i bawled like a baby during the actual episode!! i guess i don't know supernatural well enough to vote for them...

I don't care what fans of other shows call me for this category. Call me biased, call me blind. I don't care, I have to vote for my Winchester boys.
Dean saying "If you walk out that door, don't you ever come back!", Sam walking out and Dean in pain on the floor (more emotional than physical) broke my heart so bad. I had to compose myself before being able to talk again. It's what every Supernatural fan fears most. The end of that brotherly bond.

Of all the scenes, that was what made me cry the most while watching.

But the others were heartbreaking too of course. I mean, how do you tell your young son that his best friend died. Losing a parent is never easy and for Chuck to show that vulnerablity. And for such a tragic end for Jimmy. I was hoping that they'd be back together, that was surely a shocker.

I'm not gonna lie. I cried at the Supernatural episode. My heart broke in two at seeing them fight. It's much harder to watch when you've been with the show on it's journey for almost 3 years now. =[

The OTH clip is particularly moving because of the part you added in at the end (they weren't aired back-to-back). It's the first time we see Brooke cry since her attack.

I definitely did cry during Supernatural's and Smallville's moments.

I really couldn't even vote...

Oh, definitely Supernatural here. I was speechless after that. The whole episode was completely heartbreaking, to be honest. I mean, Sam in the panic room, being haunted by hallucinations while Dean and Bobby are listening to him scream upstairs...

When Dean said, "If you walk out that door, don't you ever come back," I flipped out. Both my friend and I were like, "No! Don't say THAT! You're not John, Dean! Don't say that! NO!"

Even if that hadn't been an exact repeat of what John had said, it still would've been heartbreaking. But the fact that their dad had told Sam the exact same thing years before...

That episode gets me every time.

Can I please just give some really quick props to Jared Padalecki here? Don't get me wrong, the whole cast (as usual) was phenomenal, but Jared's out-did himself in this one. Once I calmed down after the first viewing (which took a considerable amount of time), I was able to appreciate how extremely difficult this episode would've been. I gotta hand it to these guys... they sure can act.

Totally off-topic there, but I had to get it out.

Long story, short: I voted Supernatural.

I watched all four clips, and there is no more heartbreaking moment than the Winchester boys.

Sam is literally strangling his older brother, the one who protected him when he was younger, and then spits that "You don't know me!" line at Dean.

Then Dean turns around and echos John by saying "If you walk out that door, don't you EVER come back!" and Sam walks out, leaving a beaten and broken Dean in his wake.

My vote went 100% to SPN
