Smallville: Meet the Big Bads
Smallville has cast another Big Bad for next season -- General Zod! British actor Callum Blue, best known for Dead Like Me and The Tudors, will be taking the general's role. This follows on the heels of the news that Brian Austin Green, late of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles (and before that, the original Beverly Hills 90210) will be showing up as Metallo, a cyborg supervillian (and ace reporter!) powered by kryptonite. Clark is going to be busy!
Callum is stepping into some big shoes -- actor Terrance Stamp (who Smallville fans know as the voice of Jor-El) played Zod in 1980's Superman Ii; more recently, Smallville's own Lex Luthor (Michael Rosenbaum) played host to Zod's malevolent life force.
What's your take on the casting -- and on these villians showing up on Smallville? Are they big and bad enough to follow up on Doomsday, or does the show need more?

Why would anyone from Krypton happen to have a British accent? Blue sounds like a cheesy douche who does not fit the Zod character profile at all. He comes off as having a total lack of presence as would be expected from a super villian such as Zod.

I think Smallville has always been good casting villains. What is missing is a good romance between Chloe and Clark. Poor girl, always suffering too much. Enough already. It's time for romance!

I can't wait to see this new big bad villian after the major disappointment of Doomsday.
