The CW Upfronts: Goodbye to the Fallen Shows
Privileged: At first blush, we feared this show would be a Gossip Girl knockoff -- look, it's based on a series of teen-girl books, and it's about the lives of the fabulously rich! -- but we soon realized it was so much more. We'll miss the show's mix of sweetness and sharpness, and we'll miss out weekly dose of Megan, Rose, Sage, Marco and Will. We held out hope that the show would make it onto the schedule -- after all, it seemed to hit the young-woman demographic that the CW prizes -- but alas, it was not to be.
The Game: Not only was this a funny/smart/sharp/touching/outrageous/always amusing half-hour of TV, it was also a fantastic set to visit. We loved Derwin, Mel, Malik, Tasha, Kelly and Jason almost as much as we loved Pooch, Tia, Hosea, Wendy Raquel, Brittany and Coby. As fantastic as they are on-screen, believe us, they're even sweeter and funnier in person. We'll miss the show, with it's mix of laugh-out-loud funny and jaw-dropping drama (often int he same scene!), but we'll miss hanging out with the cast even more. And from the comments we've been getting on our last video with Pooch and Hosea, we know you feel the same way.
Say goodbye to Reaper, Everybody Hates Chris and Lily after the jump.
Reaper: We'll admit that some folks here at The CW Source initially viewed Reaper with a bit of suspicion. Why does the net need another supernatural ass-kicker named Sam, hmm? Isn't one enough? But we got over that with the first episode -- the tone, the lines, the situations, they were all so different from Supernatural that they two shows could happily coexist. And besides, how could you not love a show with super-powered Dirt Devils, full-body condoms, demon birds, a portal to Hell in the DMV, and some of the best slackers on TV? But as much as we'll miss Sam, Sock, Ben, Andi and Nina, the real reason we're in mourning is that this means no more Ray Wise as the absolute most perfect Satan ever. He brought just the right blend of smarm and menace, and that grin! And those suits! Perfection. In fact, now we're wondering... Kripke, you need a Lucifer, and we happen to know a guy who's already in Vancouver and who knows the part... How awesome would it be to add Ray to the raft of utterly awesome bad guys on Supernatural? Bliss!
Everybody Hates Chris: Just what was it with this show? Chris Rock is a genius, the actors were all spot-on, Terry Crews may be the hardest-wring man in show business, the writing was sharp, it won a boatload of awards, critics adored it... and the audiences were never there. So we weren't surprised to see Chris go -- but we still mourn it's passing.
Lily: Ah, Lily, we never even got a chance ... we loved the flashback portions of the backdoor pilot of young Lily's life in L.A., and the critical and fan reaction made it seem like a lock for the upcoming season. But for some reason, Lily is nowhere to be found on the new slate. Was it too expensive? Did the retro theme seems like too much of a risk? What happened? All we know is now we won't get the opportunity to see Brittany Snow, Krysten Ritter or all the rest on our screens -- and we won't get to see modern bands playing great '80s music. Which is, we have to say, a major bummer.

What was CW thinking, The Game was the best show on Channel 39... i am truly disappointed that the show has been cancelled.. I was glad to see a show with such positive african american people. My family of 7 sisters made away out of our busy schedules to gather at my house every friday to see The Game. I would like to know is there anything that can be done to get it back on the air... I really loved that show as well as every character in the show... BRING THE GAME BACK!!!!!!!!!!!

Obviously, these shows do have audiences and the audience is outraged--rather than having a leisure time. I don't know the reason why they cancelled Privileged, The Game, Reaper..., but it's blantly--you can see from the messages on this page that people don't like the cuts and changes. I, too don't like it. And I won't be watching the new shows.

I guess Reaper was canceled because someone wasn't sleeping with someone. It was a cute as hell show. There's no need to cancel it. I think the conservative right is taking over the airwaves. This just sucks. Soon there will be absolutely nothing to watch. I watch less and less tv all the time. No one watches the stupid reality shows. They have nothing to do with reality and take someone without a brain to enjoy them.
I've long thought that Tyler was taking over the show and I didn't like his part in it. He was a good supportive character, but not good when the spotlight was on him. Sam was the main point.
BRING BACK THE SHOW!!!
Did I say this sucks. CW/ABC apparently has no business acumen.

The Game is a great show...my favorite as a matter of fact. I never missed an episode and if I did, I used my DVR to catch it. What I love about the show is that it is realistic unlike a lot of shows. It made me believe that Melanie, Derwin & the entire cast really exists. The network would be crazy to cancel this show. If you guys do, I hope BET can work something out to save it; even if for another season. Although I still have all of the previous shows, I watch the re-runs on BET everyday. I hope your network comes to make an executive decision and also the RIGHT decision.

i am from Asia.Taiwan actually.All dvds i ever bought came from CW.Not on purpose.But i keep getting disappointed.CW kept canceling all the shows i love.Since Veronica Mars to Privileged,i am tired of CW.I am in Asia and have been watching US Tv shows IN MY COUNTRY for ten years,and seen almost Every drama AIRED in USA.
and i really hate CW doing this to viewers.i have no arguements to this whole cancelling thing,But please !Leave an ending to viewers!

i cant believe the game was cancelled cw made a huge mistake on this one!! I hope bet will pick it up and realized it hasnt reached its full potential!!!!
cw will never be able to compete with the rest of the big time networks because they dont know what good television is...and when you think they've gotten a clue i.e. the game they go and cancel what idiots!!

I HATE TO SEE ALL AFRICAN AMERICAN SHOWS .THEY NEVER SEEMED TO LAST SEEM LIKE WHEN THEY GET REAL GOOD THE CW GIVE THEM THE BOOT

THE GAME is the best show that could have happened to the CW!!! (along with Girlfriends!!)
I watched THE GAME faithfully from the very first airing all the way up to Season's 3 Finale in hopes of Season 4 and many many more seasons to come and for the CW to cancel "THE GAME" this way is very very disappointing and heartbreaking!!!! The entire cast and the entire show was WONDERFUL!!!!
The problems with ratings wouldn't occur if the network would STOP sabotaging the airing times!!!! (If that is really the problem or reason!)

I have watched the GAME from its very inception.The actors and writers are brilliant. And this is how the network rewards hard work?? Such a shame. Hollywood needs to recognize good talent and stop trying to hold back successful African-Americans. Enough is enough. Show the network how outraged your are and join me and hundresds of other viewers in boycotting CW11.

While I haven’t personally watched any of the shows that our being cancelled I can understand where the fans are coming from. I have been watching the shows on channel 11 since it was the WB network. What I liked most when it was the WB was that despite a shows slow start they always gave it a chance to find its following. Sadly since becoming the CW network it has not even tried to give its new show a chance. On top of that it seems like each season it decides to cancel shows that are far better then anything out there even though it is proved in message boards there is an audience for these shows. Reading these post has made me remember why I decided not to start watching any new shows on this network. Why bother when they will cancel it anyway to make room for new shows that wont make it either. It is easy to see that the people running the CW have no clue what they are doing. Oh how I miss the days of the WB too bad Supernatural is all make believe because then maybe Sam and Dean could resurrect the frog and the network would be worth watching again.

bring back reaper! what's with all the stupid tween shows? on the other hand i can kind of expect disappointment from a network that actually managed to do the impossible by ruining SUPERMAN...bravo CW, i get to go back to skipping your channel again. ... if Tom Welling wants to leave Smallville, he won't be leaving much behind aside from a trainwreck of a worthless show. why don't you guys let him go, too? once he buries Smallville with his departure he can do work that matters

I think it will be a big mistake taking the game off air. I have been watching the show since my sister put me on it.Its the only black show that i do wait to watch every friday and i get mad once its gone off i truely do believe it can make an hour long show. You took one good show (Girldfriends)from us don't take a another from the black viewers please.

I THINK YOU WILL BE MAKING A BIG MISTAKE BY DROPPING REAPER. ALOT OF PEOPLE I KNOW LOVE THE SHOW, THE CHARACTERS AND THE ACTORS THAT PLAY THEM.
THIS SHOW IS FUN TO WATCH AND IS VERY FUNNY. I LOOK FORWARD EVERY WEEK TO WATCHING REAPER, SO MUCH SO I HAVE AN ALARM SET SO THAT I DO NOT MISS THE SHOW.
I HOPE IF CW DOES DROP REAPER THAT IT IS PICKED UP BY ANOTHER NETWORK...

I dont know who makes the decisions to cancel shows but I'm very disappointed that The Game & Everybody hates Chris will be canceled. I feel it should be a viewer choise to keep or cancel a show. If the question is put out there for viewers to cast a vote, I know the choise would be to keep these shows on. My grand children love Everybody hates Chris & I love the Game. What is it that needs to be said or done to keep these shows on the air? I really need to know.

Get it together network every show that evolves around the minority's are cancelled and its a bigger issue than ratings because me and my friends have been watching the network since it was the WB and the wayans had there show, its so frustrating that all the good shows are gone. girlfriends,all of us and now the game ARE U CRAZY! this show had charisma, comedy, everything my white, chinese, black and latins friends were crazy about this show.....SO TO THE NETWORK UR CRAZY TOO!.

I truly enjoy watching The GAME and I think the network should be proud of The Game enough to keep it on it the air ... The game is the Black show on and its enjoyed by every race cause many relate to each actor/actress If anything I think we need more of The Game not for it to be canceled....Me and my girlfriends all Tivo this show so we can enjoy it @ the same time over to phone so it would really be a great lost to me life and our sister hood...The show is a big inspiration to me and ppl in my age group it has everything a great show need and thats important cause a lot of other shows lack what the game has so please keep the game on and give them an hour cause I truly love this show The game the the only reason I watch WB11 so if there not on I have no reason to watch channel 11 everything else is boring this is the best show on this network so I think you guys need to game more than they need u guys If its not picked up by WB11 I think another network should pic them up cause I think there's so much more the game has to offer....Thank you

I can't believe that the only black show on tv right now has been canceled. This was my favorite show. Also the only show to show black people in a positve aspect. I'm a turly miss this show and I hope to see it back again in the future!

We’re hearing back from the affiliates that they are considering the deal; apparently some are worrying about Tyler leaving, so reassure them that we’d still watch the show without him.
