Gossip Girl Podcast: "Seder Anything"
We know we shouldn't be disturbed by inconsiderate behavior anymore on Gossip Girl, but the episode bugged us! Yeah, yeah, running off and maybe married/lying about a cater-waiter job/trying ti manipulate your boyfriend to go to the school his grandfather chooses/banging a ballerina.... we're used to that. But hijacking a Seder and a rehearsal dinner to air your own grievances? That's just not right!
Serena's back from Spain, and she's kind of freaking out -- she maybe kind of a little might be married, and to her "friend" Poppy's boyfriend. Our vacations don't tend to go like that... While she's trying to figure out if she needs an annulment, Blair is trying to cement her place in society by sucking up to Tripp's fiancee. Alas, it doesn't work -- "It takes a while to matter," Maureen tells Blair. But Nate's grandfather tells Blair she can get all the social points she wants -- IF she convinces Nate to go to Yale instead of Columbia. Meanwhile, Jenny has a date, which is interrupted by Chuck's mostly naked date, and Dan decides he needs to make some money to pay for Yale. Most of the players end up at Cyrus' Seder -- which they RUIN! Seriously, folks, it's NOT ABOUT YOU! Sigh. There's lots of cross talk as Dan tries to disguise the fact he's a cater-waiter, Gabriel tries to talk to Serena, Serena tries to pass of Dan as her boyfriend, Lily tries to figure out what's going on with Serena, Rufus tries to figure out what's going on, and Cyrus and his mom try to remind people that HELLO! religious occasion! You think you might pay attention? Sigh. And Nate decides to ruin another social occasion by using his Best Man's toast to chew out his grandfather for turning The Captain in to the SEC. Seriously --- what's WRONG with these people?
The only people NOT behaving badly are Jenny and (shockingly) Chuck -- who finally apologizes to Jenny for that whole date rape thing from the first season. Remember that, when Chuck as a genuinely dangerous guy ad not just a lovable cad? Chuck tells Nate to think about what happened with Blair, and Gabriel tells Serena that they're not really married... so all is well, right? Well, maybe... Gabriel and Poppy seem to be back together at the end of the episode. What's going on?
Find out who WE think should be a cater-waiter, listen to us speculate on the miraculous properties of Cyrus' brisket and kosher wine, discover what really got people's juices flowing, and learn how WE think Nate got into Columbia.

I kind of liked Nate's speech, even though it was in a truly inappropriate place. It reminded me of his hilarious role in the play. And I liked Cyrus. But remember when Serena stood up to her grandma in Season 1 (debutante) and said she might like to teach abroad someday? That is the Serena I hope we discover at Brown.

I didn't really like this episode. I don't know what it was. I think it was kinda boring.
I've said so many times that Serena and Dan do not belong together, Dan is always judging her and together they are just annoying.
Nate I can't believe that Nate is still going out with Blair, am I the only one that wants him back with Vanessa? and Chuck OMG he knows he belongs with Blair he should just try harder to get her back sorta eventhough he never really had her.arrrgh this is kinda frustrating. lol
Jenny laying the smackdown on Chuck was awesome I think that was from the first episode that whole scene with the thing on the roof.
oh and you guys didn't miss anyhting you guys were spot on. this episode plain sucked.

I hated this episode. Every forum I've been on hated this ep, so I have no clue who is actually liking this.I hope this show gets better but if they keep shoving NB in my face I won't be able to deal. Nate's a jerk. He can't accept Blair but after seeing that Chuck loves her, he runs back to Blair? Worst friend ever! My only hope for this show was in the preview- seeing Chuck and Blair together is always a good sign. Anyway, I agree with you guys , this show has been boring let's hope CB brings it back to it's groove.
