Gossip Girl Recap: A Woman on the Verge

Looks like the Upper East Side likes their relationship martinis both shaken and stirred. This week's episode of Gossip Girl had us throwing things at the television.

Dan and Georgina this can't be good

While only part of the beans were spilled in last week's episode, this week we've got the full monty. After running away from Blair's place and boozing it up at a local bar, Serena loses her phone and Dan is the first to be notified of her leaving with three gentlemen (oopsie). Blair finds Serena, calls Chuck and Nate to come help her get S cleaned up, and the drama only builds from there.

Creepy Chuck moment: Blair takes Serena into the bathroom to get cleaned up and Chuck stares at her being undressed. Nate calls him out on it and closes the door; we hear Serena tossing her cookies in the background.

Dan finds out from Lily that Serena is over at Blair's place and he runs to find out what's going on with her. Of course, instead of telling Dan the truth about something that happened during her wilder days, Serena would rather have him believe that she had sex with a random guy; further pushing him into the arms of Sarah/Georgina (who is trying to stalk Serena into friendship and is a complete psycho). He leaves with an, "I'm done." Serena admits to her friends that no cheating actually happened the previous night. After some coaxing and a round table of "I slept with him in the back of a limo," "I slept with you when I was her date," and the best, "I'm Chuck Bass," Serena finally decides it's ok to get Blair, Chuck and Nate involved in her "crime". We know Serena isn't the brightest bulb in the bunch but this took it to a whole new level of stupidity for us. Just as we suspected, Serena really had nothing to do with killing the man who was trying to take advantage of her. When a guy OD's on his own drugs and you call 911 to come help him, that's pretty much all you can do. If anything, the video (with poor editing decisions made my Georgina) clears Serena of any wrongdoing and only makes G look bad since she didn't even want to call 911 in the first place.

We have to say, Blair has really stepped up her game as a friend. She has been incredibly loyal to Serena in ways we can only hope our friends would be to us. Also - her outfits have been amazing lately! We love the retro-chic she and Chuck have been outfitted in.

Chuck gross-out #2: He lost his virginity to Georgina in 6th grade!! Seriously OMG WTF!

While all of the children are busy, the parents have their own issues to deal with. Rufus is headlining a VH1 Classics show with Lisa Loeb. The promotion poster they hang happens to be something of an iconic image of Rufus in his earlier days and, of course, the photo was taken by Lily. In the midst of the final preparations for her wedding and rehearsal dinner, Ms. VanDerWoodsen, "Not for too much longer *mwhahaha*" gets interviewed by Rolling Stone magazine about that image in particular. We feel like this was a bit of a stretch, especially when the journalist starts talking about how she was obviously in love with Rufus back then. We're not buying it but either way it led to Lily starting to feel uneasy about her wedding plans. Lucky for her, she doesn't have to think about them for too much longer since Dorota the maid calls and tells her she's afraid Serena has slipped back into her old drinking and drugging days.

Lily leaves the rehearsal dinner setup and rummages through Serena's drawers - finding the thumb drive Georgina had given to S to blackmail her into friendship. Lily watches for a while and turns it off right before the coke snorting happens. For some reason she doesn't recognize that the Serena she sees in the video is younger than the Serena currently living under her roof. She gets her panties into a bunch and threatens to send S to a reformatory school. Blair stands up to Lily and lets her know how much pain Serena is in. Lily warms up and takes Serena to see the boy's parents - setting her free from the guilt that has consumed her up until this point. Now Serena is free to be happy with Dan! Or is she?

Dan is off with Sarah/Georgina at Rufus's concert. FINALLY Nate brings Vanessa into the loop about how Sarah is really psycho Georgina. V tries to tell Dan to be careful around her (I mean, hello, this is the second time someone is telling him that her name is Georgina) and what does he do? He falls into her trap again, only this time he makes out with her. We thought Dan was smarter than this, but we suppose being heartbroken will make you do some seriously stupid things.

Meanwhile, Lily catches part of Rufus's concert when she drops Serena off to see Dan. If Lisa Loeb's appearance weren't enough of a Reality Bites moment for you, just think of the Lily/Lelaina's quandry: "Rich man or poor man?" "Musician or executive,"? Lily and Rufus are cheesier than the platters sure to be served at the wedding. Lily: "Get outta my way Rufus." Rufus: "No!" (wash, rinse, repeat). Let the parental makeout session begin!

Oh the drama! We can't wait for next week's season finale, it's sure to be a good one! How long can Georgina keep her secrets from Dan, especially now that the word has gotten out about her meddlesome ways? What did you think of this week's episode? Are you a bit up in arms like we are?

last night espiode of gossip girl was amazing show i ever seen when all the gossping going on and all the secrerts coming out and the thing's happing and people doing things to other people and when dan and s broke up the was a sad moment what she did to him and when dan sleep with sarha/(georgina)that was deeppppppppppppppppppp.....
and i think sarrha is dumb cause all the things she did to s will come back on her and puting s down cause she think that she killed that boy inthe room that was doing crack.

Just saw the episode and have to say... eh. Maybe it's from reading all the speculation out there, but this episode didn't grip me as much as the last one. Of course, how do you follow up the final moment of the last episode?

Stephanie - it's been a REALLY busy week for all of us and we haven't been in the same state (or country in Jackie's case) to do the podcast. Sarah and I will make sure to double up next week for both Gossip Girl AND OTH!

WHERES YOUR PODCAST!?!!??

I wasn't able to see the episode but from what I have read and heard, Dan has to be the dumbest person I have ever heard of. I think that he possibly could have had a thing got Sarah all this time because her and Serena were friends long ago so he had to have seen them together. I think he is the one that is sneaky.

OMG - I didn't want the show to end! Can't wait until next week.

Last night's episode was really good. Dan was an idiot though. How could he just dismiss everything V told him. Sheesh. But I totaly loved CBN, especially CB!! Finally, we got some interaction from them. You know what, what made this episode even better: NO JENNY!!! haha, thats mean. lol.

ooh, question: Do you guys want Georgina to stick around for Season 2 or No?

Personally, I'm not sure. I love/hate her. She's such a munipilative b****h, but I love that she's caused so much trouble in Serena's 'perfect' life, but I kinda what her to leave now. You know, like she caused trouble & now they can ship her off to boot camp, lol.

Anyways, I cant wait for your podcast! I hope you answer my question.
